Description

HEART is a specialist service which offers a range of services to improve the emotional wellbeing of looked after children and leaving care aged between 0-25. These include 18+ service to be part is this service for leaving care children.

The LAC CAMHS offer diagnostic mental health assessments to 0-18 years old with the Psychiatry department being part of the under 18 service. Hence, the under-18 service works for mid-severe clinical presentations.

The service offer range of treatments for mental health disorders such as Psychiatry, CBT, EMDR, Systemic therapy and individual Psychotherapy (Psychodynamic /integrative) to individual and foster families.

The second offer of the service is offering Individual consultations for carers, social workers and other professional staff.

  • Who works in the team?

    Heart CAMHS LAC consists of clinicians trained in CBT, Systemic therapy, Person Centred, Psychodynamic and integrative Psychotherapy.  We also have clinicians trained in social learning theory parenting programme, EMDR, DBT skills training.

    The service is delivered based on the needs of the young person. The assessment and formulations of each case will determine needed service.

  • Referral information

    Unlike other CAMHS, the HEART LAC CAMHS accepts referrals exclusively from Local Borough of Enfield Children Looked After Social Worker who resides in Enfield.

    In exceptional circumstances, children who are out of borough but placed in neighbouring boroughs of Barnet or Haringey will be acceptable if travelling to Enfield is not a huge concern and the children and young people are not high risk.
