Description

Waiting Room has been co-developed with professionals across North Central London. This includes mental health professionals (such as clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, children’s wellbeing practitioners, and art psychotherapists) as well as education professionals, general practitioners, and those working in the voluntary and community sector.

Professionals often use Waiting Room to better understand the mental health and wellbeing options available to young people and parents or carers they work with.

If you’re new to Waiting Room, here are a few suggestions for how you, as a professional, can get started using the website:

  • Register for an account

For a more personalised experience and to unlock additional features, why not register for an account on NCL Waiting Room?

It’s free and easy to do, and once you’re registered, you’ll be able to make use of the following features:

    • Build a wellbeing plan
    • Tailored recommendations
    • Journal and mood tracker
    • Favourite resources
    • Daily affirmations

With our accounts, professionals can now build personalised wellbeing plans for the young people and parents or carers they work with. These plans then provide families with recommendations for tailored resources on the platform and help them communicate those needs with others.

Professionals can also favourite or save resources they would like to return to, and they can also use the journal and mood tracker. It’s then easy to share these resources with young people and families or colleagues.

  • Browse our trusted support library

Do you struggle sometimes to know what’s available in your area for the young people and families you work with?

Do you have a shared drive spreadsheet of resource recommendations that’s gone slightly out of date?

Are you new in post and looking for resources for a specific population?

Take a look at our trusted support library which allows you to easily search Waiting Room’s 300+ mental health and wellbeing resources.

  • Wellbeing advice

Waiting Room now offers a wellbeing advisory service for professionals.

This service allows you to talk to a member of our team about Waiting Room’s wellbeing options and discuss how you can use Waiting Room in your work with young people and families.

  • Update or add your team or service's page

Team and service pages form the bulk of the CAMHS-related content on Waiting Room. If your team or service has an existing page on Waiting Room, have a look to see if there’s anything you’d like to add to your page, and contact us with any changes or amendments.

Or, if you don’t yet have a page representing your team or service, contact us if you are interested in joining our growing network of service partners.

  • Get involved

All professionals with an interest in Waiting Room, websites or digital health initiatives in general are invited to get involved in the ongoing development of the platform.

This could involve providing one-off feedback about the platform, sharing your expertise in a particular area to improve user experience of the website, contributing to current or future research or evaluation related to the platform, or participating in our next design sprint.
