Here's more detail
Description
Strength and Learning Through Horses (SLTH) supports young people struggling with mental health issues, behavioural problems & learning difficulties.
Our clients struggle to engage in traditional therapy and classroom settings, but thrive in the inclusive outdoor setting of our stables.
Many of our young people have also experienced abuse and significant trauma. Our horses respond to the emotions of young people by reacting fearfully to anger; nervously to anxiety; dominantly to lack of confidence.
This feedback enables young people to reflect on and alter their behaviour in order to build successful relationships with the horses.
- Who will I work with?
We have a team of:
- Clinical Psychologists
- Psychotherapists
- Horse Behaviour Experts
Our expert staff help to translate the horse’s behaviour into observations which are meaningful for our young people. We encourage young people to learn about their own emotions and behaviour to make positive changes which improve their life chances.
