Description
The 8-week online Parents/Carers Support Group is a safe and confidential space for parents/carers to gain information and skills to support their young person as well as receive peer support from other parents/carers.
The programme is aimed to provide broad strategies for supporting young people’s mental health as well as supporting parents’ resilience.
Part of this programme will be educational while the other parts will be practical strategies and facilitated peer support from other parents/carers facing similar challenges.
Duration: 8 weeks
Delivery: On-line for 1.5 hours
- Who is this programme for?
This course is only for Parent/Carers whose adolescents (11-16) are on a CAMHS waiting list for assessment or treatment with the main presenting concerns of:
- anxiety
- depression
- self-harm
- and/or suicidality
This does NOT include those with PTSD, an eating disorder or a significant learning disability.

Referrals are welcome from North Central London CAMHS services (Tier 2&3) in the London boroughs of Enfield, Barnet, Haringey, Camden and Islington.
