Description

Waiting Room has been co-developed with parents and carers across North Central London.

Parents and carers are often the first people young people go to for support.

You can use the platform to better understand the mental health and wellbeing options available to you and the young people in your life, to learn about self-help strategies you can use now, and to build a plan to help you think about and manage your wellbeing or a young person’s wellbeing.

If you’re new to Waiting Room, here are a few suggestions for how you, as a parent or carer, can get started using the website

  • Register for an account

For a more personalised experience and to unlock additional features, why not register for an account on NCL Waiting Room?

It’s free and easy to do, and once you’re registered, you’ll be able to make use of the following features:

    • Build a wellbeing plan
    • Tailored recommendations
    • Journal and mood tracker
    • Favourite resources
    • Daily affirmations

With our accounts, you can now build personalised wellbeing plans for yourself or the young people in your life. These plans provide recommendations for tailored resources on the platform and help you to communicate your needs, or a young person’s needs, to others.

You can also favourite or save resources you would like to return to, and you can use the journal and mood tracker. It’s then easy to share these resources with others, such as the young people in your life, family members or professionals.

  • Browse our trusted support library

Are you wondering what options are out there to support your mental health and wellbeing, or to support a young person in your life?

Are you looking for something that’s available in your area, or something you can do right now?

Take a look at our trusted support library which allows you to easily search Waiting Room’s 300+ mental health and wellbeing resources.

  • Get involved

All parents or carers with an interest in Waiting Room, websites or digital technology are invited to get involved in the ongoing development of the platform.

This could involve providing feedback about the platform, sharing your experiences to improve the website, contributing to current or future research or evaluation related to the platform, or participating in designing the website.
