Description
New Citizens’ Gateway is an independent registered charity that works in partnership with individuals and agencies to improve the quality of life and promote the physical, social, and mental well-being of refugees and asylum seekers. Operating in London and surrounding areas, it helps reduce health inequalities, social exclusion, and poverty, while also facilitating integration. Each year, the organization supports over 2,000 refugees and asylum seekers through its ‘Integrated Holistic Model of Support.’
Its services are designed to enhance the mental health and life chances of vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers living in the UK, reducing social isolation and fostering community cohesion. This is achieved by helping clients develop their skills, increase resilience, improve well-being, and build self-esteem. New Citizens’ Gateway provides access to training, counselling, and advice, along with psycho-social activities and group work, while also encouraging clients to volunteer. The services are integrated and mutually supportive.
