Service Information
CAMHS in NRC is an embedded Children’s Mental Health Team operating in partnership with New River College Pupil Referral Unit.
The team aims to provide in reach mental health support to young people, parents/carers and mental health advice to staff members across NRC.
- What will being seen involve?
Our CAMHS in NRC team offer a range of assessments, interventions, consultations, and advisory sessions across the Primary, Secondary, Medical and Outreach sites/teams within NRC.
Above all, CAMHS in NRC aims to ensure that all students receive the social, emotional, and mental health support they require. Alongside direct 1:1 therapeutic work, we offer specialist assessments (i.e. Autism/ADHD). We also facilitate various groups depending on the setting and training to staff members to enhance their skills in working with young people’s mental health needs.
The benefit of our team is the ability to meet young people within the New River College setting. We hold most of our appointments in the school, and occasionally see young people at our Northern Health Centre Clinic – if this is their preferred option.
- Who will children, young people and their families work with?
We have a range of clinicians, including
Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists ,Nurses ,Family Therapists ,Art Therapists ,Integrative Therapists , andAssistant Psychologists . - Referral information
