Description
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England.
NCL Waiting Room strives to be fully compliant with the CQC’s five key standards.
Below, we explain how we address the questions posed by each standard and how we support the mental health services in our network in meeting these standards during inspections.
Are they safe?
Safety is a core element of NCL Waiting Room. We are proud to confirm that we are DCB0129 compliant, ensuring we are a clinically safe digital tool. Our platform incorporates stringent data security measures to protect user information, including encryption and secure authentication protocols. Additionally, we implement continuous monitoring and regular security audits to identify and mitigate any potential vulnerabilities.
Our platform and service is designed to safeguard children and young people by offering a secure and anonymous space where they can explore support resources without fear of privacy breaches. We provide resources and training for our team on safeguarding practices and maintain a robust incident reporting system to promptly address any safety concerns. By integrating NCL Waiting Room, mental health services can enhance their safety protocols and demonstrate their commitment to protecting service users.

Are they effective?
NCL Waiting Room consistently measures its effectiveness through rigorous evaluation and data analysis. We employ evidence-based practices and regularly update our content and tools based on the latest research and clinical guidelines. Our team has a proven track record in leading research, service evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
We offer comprehensive reporting features that allow mental health services to track key performance indicators, outcomes, and user satisfaction. These insights help services identify areas for improvement and demonstrate their effectiveness in providing high-quality care. By adopting our platform, services can ensure they are delivering effective interventions and continually enhancing their practices informed by user need.
Are they caring?
We are dedicated to involving young people and their parents or carers in meaningful decisions about their wellbeing needs and experience of accessing support. Our platform facilitates shared decision-making through personalised wellbeing plans and user-friendly navigation and accessibility features.
Our wellbeing advisory service provides tailored support options based on individual needs, ensuring users receive compassionate and relevant care. We also offer resources and training for professionals to enhance their understanding of person-centred care practices. By integrating our tool, mental health services can foster a caring environment that prioritises the needs and preferences of service users.

Are they responsive to people's needs?
NCL Waiting Room is highly responsive to the diverse needs of young people, their parents or carers, and the professionals who work with them. Our platform surfaces options that best meet individual needs through a personalised account feature. Once a user creates an account, they can develop a tailored wellbeing plan that recommends appropriate support options based on their unique circumstances.
We continuously gather user feedback and adapt our services to meet evolving needs. Our platform also provides timely updates and notifications to ensure users stay informed about new resources and support options. Mental health services can leverage our adaptable design to enhance their ability to meet the dynamic needs of their service users.
